In the early stages of human development, the power of speech is not fully realized and, in relation to another person, man indeed blunders clumsily like an elephant in what is said and how it is said. In order to hear, one has to be silent and even all speech in the mind has to stop. The voice of conscience can only be heard when all other chatter has subsided.
